Nutritional information on viruses, colds and infections

Did you know that viruses can only develop under specific physical conditions which you provide by not establishing or maintaining a state of optimum health?

Viruses are tiny living things that can only reproduce, replicate, inside the cells of other organisms. The viruses use your cells to provide the energy and materials they need. Ironically, the temperature, pH, and energy level of your body when you are in a run-down state is the perfect environment for the virus which then penetrates the walls of any individual cell and apparently infiltrates the cell's DNA/RNA integrity, commanding that cell to manufacture more virions. When their number is sufficient, the cell wall bursts, killing the cell, and they go on to penetrate other cells. This can lead to organ death, system death and ultimately, physical death.

The common cold is a viral infection. Other viral infections include influenza, croup, herpes zoster, meningitis, mononucleosis, polio, tonsillitis, infectious hepatitis, encephalitis, measles, kidney and bladder infections, asthma, and some types of conjunctivitis and pneumonia.

Drugs relieve only the symptoms of infections, they do not cure the body. In fact, they can make the situation worse by hampering the body's defense mechanism. For example, during a cold, the body secretes a lot of mucus and in this way casts off viruses and bacteria. Cold pills, by drying up the mucus, cause those organisms to be retained in teh body, where they multiply and cause more destruction. Antibiotics are NOT effective against viral infections because they kill bacteria not viruses. They are effective against the bacterial complications which can accompany a viral infection when it gets out of hand.

A viral infection has been in your body for two days when you get the first symptoms. Giving your body generous amounts of the proper nutrients at the first sign can quickly improve your immune system. A sufficient defense can destroy viruses, bacteria and their toxins.

It has been long recognized that the healthy body's defense consisted of white blood cells, lymph cells and anti bodies. However, during the 1970's scientists were amazed to discover that the body has a second line of defense. It is a protein produced by the body called interferon. Interferon prevents the virus from entering the cell so ti cannot use your body to clone itself. The implications are that the body won't produce interferon until the first line of defense has proven inadequate for the job, probably 7-10 days. Specific viruses stimulate the production of interferon that prevents only that virus from replicating: however, we now know that a non-specific interferon that can stop almost any virus is produced when the liver is stimulated by a free source of messenger RNA.

The body's defense against infection is exactly the same in all case regardless of the location of the infection or of the virus or bacteria involved.

Generally, it will be necessary to begin by stimulating adrenal function. Swollen lymph glands, such as under the dchin or behind the ears, or enlarged tonsils or adenoids always show that adequate amounts of cortisone are not being produced.

A formula is available that provides the nutriotn to reinforce and stimulate both lines of bodily defense simultaneously. Although each substance has a positive effect on the immune system, their interaction achieves a much more potent result within the body.

A possible formulation of nutrients that could be employed successfully is listed below:
